Every 2 years the IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) takes place at McCormick Place in Chicago. Of course, it has all the latest advances in the machining world on full display and operating but most importantly to us, this is also THE SHOW to go to in the U.S. to see all the latest innovations in the world of quality and precision measurement. I have only missed one in 20 years and plan on returning in 2020!
In addition to seeing all the new equipment it is an opportunity for the people in our field to come together as a community. It is great to see all the suppliers, past and present coworkers, and meet some new ones as well. Everyone I spoke with was very happy with the show attendance, quality of leads they received, and the sales that resulted from some great show specials!
According to the IMTS website, they had a record setting year for attendance and a show that covers almost 1.5 million square feet of exhibit space. The scope of this show truly must be seen to be appreciated.
