Designed specifically for the measurement of bore diameters from 2" to 12"/50mm-310mm up to 50'/15 meters deep, the Bowers Pneumatic Deep-Hole Bore Gaging System provides an accurate, robust and easy-to-use solution to what would otherwise be a complex measuring task.

The equipment consists of a 3-point bore gaging head with spherical anvils made of tungsten carbide and a variable number of 1m extensions screwed together to achieve the required depth. The spherical contact anvil helps alignment in the bore while the carbide material promotes extremely long service life. Just behind the measuring anvils, an acetyl guide sleeve is fitted to the head to enable it to be pushed smoothly down to measurement depth without damaging either the anvils or the bore itself.

The measuring head is operated by a pneumatic activator powered by a 6 bar compressed air supply - either from a compressor or a workshop air-line. The measurement data is collected by a capacitive probe fitted just behind, and in constant contact with the measuring head. This direct contact ensures high-quality transducer-type accuracy, even at great depths. Measurements are taken by pressing a footswitch connected to the airline. The measurement is then shown on the digital readout at the operator end.

Various readouts are available, all have an RS232 output for data-transmission to a PC.

Applications: Oil industry, extrusion machines and military gun barrel to name a few. Ideal for deep bore applications in general.
